At Barrett's Mill Farm, we offer two Vegetable CSA styles in two different sizes: Extended (24 weeks) and Flex (20 pick-ups over the course of a 24 week season) in Regular size and Small size. We would like our CSA to be accessible, so we offer a sliding scale for our Vegetable CSA. In addition to the Standard price, we also have Supporter and Reduced Price memberships. We also accept SNAP payment for our CSA - please email Melissa at melissa@barrettsmillfarm.com for more information. In addition to our Vegetable CSAs we offer a Pick-your-own Flower CSA and a Mushroom CSA from Fat Moon

CSA Options

A sample of what might fit into a Regular size membership bag in September. PYO crops like cherry tomatoes, hot peppers, tomatillos, husk cherries, shishito peppers, green beans and herbs are often also available in addition at this time of year.

Regular Vegetable CSA

Regular sized for a household of 4-5 people (or 2 people who eat a lot of vegetables). Items generally need to fit in the provided CSA bag, but occasionally there will be bulkier items like watermelon or Brussels sprouts stalks that may be taken outside of the CSA bag. Some PYO crops such as strawberries, peas, beans, cherry tomatoes, husk cherries, tomatillos, hot peppers and herbs are also available most weeks of the summer season.

The value of produce in the Regular sized CSA options (including PYO crops) usually ranges from $55-$70 per week depending on what crops are available, and which crops you select.

A sample of what might fit into a Small size membership bag in September. Small memberships holders will also usually be able to choose one or two PYO crops as well at this time of year (like cherry tomatoes, hot peppers, tomatillos, husk cherries, shishito peppers, green beans or herbs).

Small Vegetable CSA

Small sized for a household of 1-2 people. Small memberships are about 70% of the volume of the Regular memberships (Regular memberships are the same volume as the 2024 CSA bag). Members will have access to the same vegetables in the CSA distribution area as the Regular membership, but available PYO crops or other outside the bag items may differ in a given week. For instance, PYO strawberries are not available with Small memberships.

The value of produce in the Small Extended CSA (including PYO crops) usually ranges from $40-$50 per week depending on what crops are available, and which crops you select.

Pick-Your-Own crops will be available in addition to the CSA bag for most of the season. In addition to the Standard Price, we offer the following:

  • Supporter Price: Supporter memberships make it possible for us to donate memberships to Minute Man ARC and subsidize the cost of the CSA for SNAP households and those who could not otherwise afford it.

  • Reduced Price: If the Standard price of the CSA is a significant financial burden for you, please select the Reduced Price membership and we will reach out to you with an application.

PYO Flower CSA

We will contact members about the exact start date in early July, but peak flower season is usually mid-July to early September.

Picking days: Anytime during farmstand hours.

  • Tuesday - Friday 11am - 6pm

  • Saturday 9am - 3pm

Cost: $85

Come wander in our flower garden and choose your favorite blossoms to take home! A mason quart jar will be provided for each Pick-Your-Own Flower Membership. Picking is available anytime during farm stand hours, and you can pick as many bouquets as you like per visit until you reach a total of 6 bouquets for the season.

All members pick bouquets into wide mouth quart jars. Depending on the type of flowers you pick and how many leaves you strip off the flowers, a wide-mouth mason jar can fit between 15 and 40 stems. Flower CSA memberships expire at the end of the season - they cannot be rolled over to subsequent seasons.

2025 Fall Session: dates TBD

Spring CSA Cost: TBD

Sign up for the Fat Moon Mushroom CSA and each week you'll receive one pound of Fat Moon's fresh, organic mushrooms. Over the course of the season, expect to get a taste of varieties like Shiitake, Chestnut, Lion's Mane, Pioppino, various Oyster mushrooms, and more! For recipes, fungi facts, and Fat Moon updates, visit www.FatMoonMushrooms.com or follow @fatmoonmushrooms on social media.

Throughout the Spring CSA season we will be receiving our delivery on Monday afternoons and they will be kept in our cooler until pick-up, so while the mushrooms do hold well when refrigerated, we recommend Tuesday or Wednesday pick-up for the longest shelf life. We will include information about what is in your mushroom CSA bag in our weekly newsletter. You can also read up on the different mushroom varieties grown here.
